The Walk to White Pine Lake

Last week my parents, Rachel and James, and my Aunt Sue from Washington came to Bear Lake. I was able to take a day off of work and spend some time hanging out with them. We did a hike to White Pine Lake, it's just under 8 miles long and it was really pretty. The leaves are just starting to change.

Oh and as we were driving back my dad and I both saw this thing in the road that looked like an insect, but we couldn't believe it was an insect so we turned around and went back to see it again. It turned out to be the biggest cricket I've ever seen in my life! Teancum wasn't able to come with me to Bear Lake so I brought home this thing as a souvenir. He thought it was gross and I suggested we could feed it to our gecko. He said it would eat the gecko so we let it go in the backyard... hoping that it doesn't carry away one of the neighborhood children.

You're brave. I drove like a mile from our house to let the tarantula I found go. I knew if I just let it go in the yard, I would have nightmares of it crawling back to our front door - this time for revenge. (Sorry Teancum, I just saw that you were interested in taking it. The next one I find is yours!)
