The Beauty of GNP

We ended up going to Glacier National Park for Teancum's birthday because we had a few days off of work. The weather, which I checked the night before leaving, said it would be 65-70 degrees and sunny. But it was cloudy when we got there and ended up being pretty cold.

We were going to go backpacking to a place called Cracker Lake. But after camping the first night thought hiking to a higher, colder place maybe wasn't a good idea.

So instead we drove through the park and hiked around until it was too cold and then got back in the warm car. It started to snow at the highest part of the park.

It was so pretty there! We're going to have to go back and a lot. It was only a five hour drive which is closer than St. George was. Yay for Washington!

The clouds made for some pretty lighting.

This tree was in our campground. It almost looks like something from Dr. Seuss.

It was so so windy when I took this picture! I had to take a few because the camera was blowing around and I kept taking pictures of the bushes. But it looked so amazing, in real life you could see the mountains behind the lake better.

Neat.

Also neat.

This water was really clear and the deep parts of the river looked turquoise.

After leaving Glacier we stopped at the Montana House of Mystery. Teancum had heard of it from somewhere years ago and wanted to go. They had a big rocking chair...

It was fun, but pretty spacey. The tour guide said the house was built on a vortex and that's what caused all of the weird things that happened. And he tried really hard to convince us it was real. I thought it was just a fun place with a bunch of cool optical illusions.

Look how strong I am.

Look how crooked Teancum is.

And then when we got back I got a kitten. He's 2 months old and super cute. I named him Vash.

Your Glacier photos are beautiful, the mystery place sounds like a special way to spend an afternoon, and Vash is the cutest kitten ever!

The picture with you guys and your beanies shows you've truly become Washington hippie tree-huggers. Congrats! And a cat? It's as if you've finally come out of the closet for something that we've all known all along.

Beautiful pictures as always! What a cute kitty. Is he curious at all about Gecko and Plato? That could make for some interesting photo ops.
You guys look great. LOVE Ya!

Is that a new couch? How did you get it up the stairs?

Jan- yes he's curious about the other lizards. We've had to train him to stay away from Plato's cage. He really likes to watch the crickets too. And the couch actually wasn't too bad! (Especially because I didn't have to help ha ha).
